The Difference Between A Vegan & Plant-Based Diet
In the last couple of years the global population has taken new alternatives when its comes to their diet and in booming numbers people are slowly beginning to eliminate more animal products from their diet and switching over to a vegetarian, vegan, or plant-based diet. Fortunately it’s becoming quite the trend.
Being vegan myself and part of many online vegan and plant-based community groups I constantly get asked on what’s the initial difference between the two and which one is better.
Hopefully this will help clear up any confusion. For those of you that didn’t know there is a big difference between them and no diet is better than the other.
What is a plant-based Diet?
A plant-based diet is a diet that consists mostly or entirely of foods derived from plants. Such as; vegetables, grains, nuts, seeds, legumes, and fruit. Yet, a plant-based diet does no exclude meat or animal products, but the amount consumed is considerably small.
A plant-based diet does not mean you are vegetarian since technically you can consume animal products such as meat and dairy. Usually on a plant-based diet the person will consume products that are as organic as possible and avoid processed oils and foods at all costs.
